2012 Tennessee Cattlemen's Convention
Embassy Suites - Murfreesboro, TN
January 19-21, 2012
The Tennessee Cattlemen's Convention kicked off on January 19th with a Pre-Convention Tour and was followed by a Replacement Heifer Demonstration conducted by Dr. Justin Rhinehart, Kevin Thompson, Dr. Neil Schrick and Dr. Fred Hopkins at the MTSU Livestock Center.
Friday was filled with several great Cattle Colleges including Pam Jahnke, Farm Broadcastor of the Year; Cattle Buyers Panel Discussion, Irsik and Doll Cattle Feeders and a Beef Cutting Demo. The Best of Beef Reception was a hit and was serendaded by the Bluegrass Boys.
Last year was a great year for the Cannon County Cattlemen taking home awards for Adult and 4-H Beef Agent and Business Person of the Year. This year was just as good with CCCA Board Member, Fred Adams, bringing home the Cow/Calf Producer of the Year Award!
Saturday began with a NCBA Legislative Affairs Session with Kristina Butts. Other Cattle Colleges and sessions for the day included Maximizing Forages for Beef Cattle, Farm Estate Planning, Immuno Suppression in Stocker Cattle, Considerations for Adding Value through Direct Marketing beef.
